Overview

digest.tube is a browser extension that extracts topics and key takeaways from YouTube video transcripts.

To use the service, you sign in with your Google account. We collect minimal information necessary to provide the service.

Authentication

digest.tube uses Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from your Google account.

We do NOT receive or store your Google password. Authentication is handled securely by Google's OAuth 2.0 service.

Data We Collect

Account Information

• Email address - From Google Sign-In, to identify your account
• Display name - From Google Sign-In, to personalize your experience
• Profile picture - From Google Sign-In, to display in the app
• Usage data - Which videos you've processed (to provide your history)

Video Information

When you process a YouTube video, we process the following publicly available video content:

• Video URL and ID - To identify which video to analyze
• Video transcript - Retrieved from YouTube to extract topics
• Video metadata - Title, channel name, duration (publicly available information)

What We Do NOT Collect

• No YouTube account credentials or access tokens
• No browsing history outside of videos you analyze
• No device information or fingerprinting
• No third-party tracking or advertising

How We Use Data

• Account data - To authenticate you and manage your usage
• Video data - To extract topics and takeaways from transcripts
• Cached results - To provide faster access when the same video is analyzed again

Data Storage

• Account and video data is stored securely on our servers
• Session cookies are used to keep you signed in
• We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties

Payments

Credit purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. We do not store your payment card details - all payment processing is handled securely by Lemon Squeezy.

When you complete a purchase, we store the following order information from Lemon Squeezy:

• Name and email - As entered on the checkout form (may differ from your Google account)
• Order details - Order number, amount, currency, tax, and discount information
• Receipt link - A link to your Lemon Squeezy receipt

Third-Party Services

digest.tube uses:

• Google OAuth - For secure authentication (we receive your email, name, and profile picture)
• YouTube - To access publicly available video transcripts
• Language models - To extract topics from transcripts (transcript content is processed but not stored by providers)
• Lemon Squeezy - For secure payment processing (we do not receive or store your card details)

Data Retention

• Account data - Retained while your account is active
• Video results - Cached to improve service for all users

Your Rights

• Sign out - You can sign out at any time from the extension
• Delete account - Contact us to request account deletion
• Uninstall - Remove the extension to stop using the service

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
